This detailed article shows how to directly access the system information and hardware and software inventories that are collected by Apple Remote Desktop 2. Great stuff with lots of screenshots, lots of detail. If you administer a lot of OS X desktops, you really need Apple Remote Desktop 2 to keep on top of what you’ve got out there.
